Inclusive parking that makes a difference

Our preformed markings were recently installed at one of Ireland’s largest shopping centres as part of a broader effort to improve accessibility for visitors with autism and other invisible disabilities.

The Square Tallaght has taken an important step by introducing new autism friendly parking spaces to enhance the overall visitor experience at the shopping area. Made with our PREMARK™ material and applied by our customer Car Park Lining, the new markings have already received very positive feedback from shoppers. A clear indication that thoughtful design can make a meaningful difference in people’s daily lives.

A new approach to inclusive parking

Autism friendly parking is a growing initiative in Ireland and in many other countries. These spaces are designed to support individuals with invisible disabilities by offering bays that are typically wider, located closer to entrances, and marked with the infinity symbol — a sign embraced by the autism community to represent neurodiversity, inclusion, and limitless potential.

Unlike traditional accessible parking, autism friendly bays are not part of the national Blue Badge scheme. Instead, they are introduced through separate initiatives and adopted by local authorities and private operators across Ireland. This approach allows communities to respond directly to the needs of autistic individuals and their families. The thought is that markings like these do more than organise traffic; they help people feel seen, respected, and supported in environments that can often be overwhelming.

Creating space for everyone, everywhere

At Geveko Markings, we are proud to support projects that make public spaces more inclusive. Our high quality preformed symbols and durable surface markings open up new possibilities for creating safer, more accessible environments in car parks, busy city centres, and shopping areas.

We believe that when markings are designed with people in mind, they do more than direct traffic. They signal inclusion. They show people that they matter. They help everyone feel seen — and safe.
