The future is electric

      At Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth, they recently updated their electric charging bays to make them clearly visible and to make it easier for visitor to take an environmentally friendly choice.

      Pressures for more environmentally friendly car solutions are growing rapidly and as more and more electric and hybrid cars are hitting our roads, the necessity for electric charging stations is growing.

      At Gunwharf Quays - a large retail village in Portsmouth - they are ready for the growing electric demand. Furthermore, they have made it easier for visitors to take an environmentally friendly choice as they recently required a makeover on their existing EV charging bays in their underground carpark. They wanted the charging bays to be clearly visible and easily identifiable to users as well as being able to remain looking their best after prolonged usage. At Geveko Markings, we had just the solution: Our materials PlastiRoute™ RollPlast in combination with PREMARK™ fulfilled all of Gunwharf Quays’ requirements.

      A cold-plastic paint, PlastiRoute RollPlast is a durable, solvent-free marking material which has the added bonus of having anti-slip properties. This makes it ideal for area markings like walkways and parking areas. In this case, the Traffic Green colour provides a vivid demarcation and makes the charging bays easy to locate as it stands out from the rest of the parking area.

      To finish off the bays, our preformed thermoplastic PREMARK was used. It marks out the edges of the bays and the charging symbol makes it easy to identify the bays as to their specific use. Our PREMARK symbols are highly durable and are made to easily apply on top of the brightly coloured cold plastic surface creating an eye-catching and practical e-parking solution.

      The materials were applied as part of a demonstration by Geveko Markings to a London based, retail property developer, who were extremely pleased with the result and have decided to use Geveko Markings material exclusively throughout their property portfolio.
